Forum-based ARG?

When I was in high school, I was part of a forum-based ARG inspired by the film series "Ringu" and its American counterpart "The Ring." I had a ton of fun with that ARG, and I'd like to do another one, this time with the Slender Man. The one based on The Ring was about a community of people who had seen the cursed video tape from the films, and how they handled the situation. This led to some really creepy moments, like my character being kidnapped and forced to watch the Japanese tape against his will after having already survived watching the American tape. With the Slender Man, things could get even creepier.
