The Silent Hill Series

Over the years I have played most all of the Silent Hill series. This is what I thought of them.

Silent Hill:
I couldn't get into this game do to the extremely rough controls and bad camera angles.

Silent Hill 2:
This is known as the best in the series. It is not my favorite, but it is a great game. My main problems are the emotionless voice actors and lack of details on what to do next.

Silent Hill 3: This finishes off the story began in the original SH. The voice acting and atmosphere are both improved. The monsters in this game just aren't that scary and heaven help you if you use any ammo on anything, but a boss fights.

Silent Hill 4: This is my personal favorite. The voice acting holds as well as SH3 and the monsters are back to freaking scary. I also love how you have finishing moves. This storyline, in particular, was very dark, twisted, shocking and most enjoyable to me.

Silent Hill Origins: I started playing, saw who the protagonist was and quit intently.

Silent Hill Shattered Memories: This is a reboot of the original SH. I loved this from beginning to end. The monsters were not scary, but no less threatening since you must run and hide from them. Things do get confusing when running, but when you get your footing it is not so bad. Where this game really shines is in it's storytelling and superb voice acting.

Silent Hill Homecoming: I do not like this game. I do not like the characters in this game. It looks pretty, but it is not scary and it does not play like a SH game. The Voice acting isn't emotionless, but it is out-right poor.

Well that is what I have to say. Would anyone else on the forum care to share their opinions on this wonderful series of games?
